To be honest, since Felicia was born (June 6, 2008), I haven't been using my RODI unit.

Just straight tapwater for both top up & water changes.

Haven't really found it to be an issue.

I have a 210g full blown mixed reef with 75g sump & ER RS250 skimmer.

I also have a 120g fowlr/softie tank with a 90g wide low light reef/refugium/sump with an ASM G4x skimmer.

Not recommending others do this, but since you asked, yes, I use straight tap water. On water changes, I usually do 100+ gallons at a time & the water mixes for a couple of days, so the chlorine dissipates.

i also use tap water and probably dont even wait long enough for chlorine to dissipate.
never had algae or any other problems relating to my water.
