I also had a vor tech it served me well for 6 months then the bearing went the high pitch squeal was nice I have two tunze's 6100's for over a year with no trouble I clean them very little, I love these pumps Marc at hidden reef can mod the wavy sea to fit a tunze I have seen them on his tank and they are a sweet combo for sure.

I vouch for the Hydor Koralias, too. I've had lots of problems with the Tunze Nanostreams, and none with the Koralia that I picked up a few months ago.

The Vortechs are so expensive, and it's fairly limited. I don't think heat would be much of an issue with the Koralias, because they operate on such a low wattage, respectively.

The flow you could achieve with three or four Koralia 4's would be much better, IMO.
