IMHO, get the one you WANT, if you are the least bit like me I would have regrets after the fact with either tank. I'm debating either a 135 or a 5ft 108 gallon and the thing that holds me back on either is..... will I be happy with them or will I decide in 6 months I need bigger. I figure either one delivered for $300 I can't really go wrong, but.... which one.. or should I spend the extra and go for bigger.. or maybe a 175 bow... or... or .. anyway.. good luck with what ever you decide.

I just bought a 120g 48"long x 24"high x 24"wide and it looks good to me. Longer is nicer but I like the width and depth, anymore and its hard to clean.

I'm with Troy. Same tank and same brace. Like the tank, hate the brace.

Default This discussion thread has been very useful

... thank you to those who have gone before; I have a 33 gallon tank which is very full of corals and seven fish. I've been in salt for less than a year and had the goal of moving to a larger tank at the one year point. Based on this thread, I will go with a five foot tank - that fits the most length I have space for and then I'll go with a 24" width and 24" height - I was thinking of a thinner tank but will rearrange home office furniture to accommodate the greater width. I will go braceless as per the recommendations and will consider a starfire front.

Thanks again everyone.

Wow, there's a blast from the past.

I'm with Kari nowadays .. I'm trying to get 36" front to back although I may have to settle on 30" due to the cost. I just got a quote from a builder and am .. still a little shocked at how much my "ideal" tank would cost ... darn it. Why can't incomes grow at the same rate as the need to upgrade one's tanks?
