if i was to float it in the 150 would ther be a chance that the carpet would try to put his foot through the holes .

he is looking better tonight did a 3/4 water change on the bucket this morning going to do anouther 1/4 to 1/2 tonight also added 2 more airstones .

If it was a shallower bucket you wouldn't need the holes. But you need to take care what you put in your tank also, bucket-wise... not so clean on the outside usually.

Glad to hear it seems to be doing better.

did a 3/4 water change this afternoon was able to get all junk out of bucket . now he looks like he is done eating a fish not much showing . i think i wil keep up this way till the 230 is up . got half the plumbing done missing parts could not contiue so i started on electrical got 2 gfi curcits pulled one above the tank for lighting and one under tank for pumps . still need to pull one more .

My biggest concern about the bucket is the lack of oxygen exchange. That big open mouth thing is an attempt to get at any lingering O2 in the water column. So keeping that water clean and agitated and staying the course. It's probably not that uncommon a symptom of shipping stress. As long as it gets it O2 and doesn't suffer any damage I would think (hope) it comes around.

Good luck with the rest of the tank build and keep us informed how it goes..
