I have a portable 12000 BTU AC so I'm fine & my tanks are usually fine in the heat. Just thought I'd remind people since every summer we read lots of horror stories online about people losing livestock due to heat issues. September is late for a heat wave & might catch reefers unaware or not expecting such a late heat wave.

I have A/C as well but the living room where my tanks are was an addition & the builder put in floor heat so there is no duct work for the A/C, stupid builder

I did add I a couple vents at the doorway pointed into the room but still need to add a booster fan to drive more air into the room. The other down fall to my 8'er is there are to many submersible pumps in the sump, 4 internal 3 external. New tank will be run off one & only one pump.

Tough to live without a/c here. we can hit 40+ as a high with 25 as a low. We never hit that this year but spent a month at 30+ highs and a week over 36. It was a hot dry summer. Spend a grand on a chiller, and your well on your way to central a\c.

My tanks are in my basement were I have the opposite problem with them getting kinda on the cool side instead of to hot. Was +30 here and my tank is at 80

I grew up there, I don't miss the heat.

My tank is in the basement as well which stays fairly cool.

I just received my utility bill from the city today and just about hit the floor! Damn it's expensive to stay cool! I don't have a problem with overheating tanks though.
