do you have them running on 1000Ma or 700Ma?
thanx

i have done few more tests.
the 1st test burnt the royal blue.
the last test was fine with no burnt led everything seems with no problem.
the reason for the shorting led of the 1st test is because i used 3 XPG and 3 XPE all in one series.
last test witch worked well i used 6 XPG in a series and no problem.
another one i rigged 6 XPE in a series separate buckpuck with no problem too.
i am happy with the results because i am planning to place an order tomorrow for the drivers.
all in all i only managed to burn 3 XPE royal blue.

ya shipping sucks. USPS has flat rate boxes that allow me to stuff as much as I can in the box not worrying about weight. So 4 LEDs is same as bricks.

im trying to find ways to make the shipping cheaper but still cover everyones butt.
Actually I'm still looking for a good driver for them. I'm looking for a driver that can power them to their full potential in a strip by themselves. I'm going to light my frag tank with them and supplement actinic with T5's (or possibly get some more royal blues, haven't made up my mind yet). So I'm looking for a good driver than can take advantage of the full 3A potential, run only the four of them in a strip and is dimmable. Any ideas?

try these guys i like their drivers.prices are decent.
very helpfull ask for Greg
go to the led driver section and pick the you need.
i like these drivers, you dont need resistors and run them in series.

They look like they have a lot of options but, forgive me, I'm not technically inclined enough to know which is the right one for me. I was hoping to find something a little more "plug and play" than those!

We will be carrying drivers here in the next few days. Some of the drivers will be specifically drivers for XM-L . Seems we are the only ones carrying the XM-L, all the other guys are lagging behind. it will be up at www.LEDGroupBuy.com

That's great news, thanks. Hopefully you can have them available before my xm-l's ship out and then we can put it all together in the same box.

Hmm, this is puzzling... Because I'm doing a mini build where I want to use one driver to drive

4 x XP-G (3.0v)
4 x XP-E (3.4v)

The driver will output a constant 700mA.

I found this quote from a site:

So that's making me weary of wiring up different LEDs in series now... Should I put a resistor before the XP-E??

Or should I wire the 4 x XP-G in series, the 4 x XP-E in series, then wiring the two strings in parallel?

Milad?

Doing large series strings using those Thomas Research drivers is dangerous. Unless you are an electrician, I wouldn't even suggest it. Keep the strings small in series or do parallel with resistors and fuses.
