because 48x20x30=28800in3 divided by 231.0087=124.67 gallons thats why

BTW derek tank is looking super sweet. love it dude

Sorry when I did the math I must have put 40" but to go to decimal point... If you tank the inside dimensions of the tank it holds less water. I would agree more with 125 gallon then 124.67 as the later states an exact amount, where as, 125 is an approximate, or 120-110 would be even closer depending on the size of the glass. For example my tank has outside dimensions give my tank a "displacement" volume of 364.68 But the inside dimensions are closer to 320 gallons. I guess most aquarium manufactures like to make their tanks sound bigger so they put the displacement volume rather then the volume they can hold... /end rant. Sorry about that, I' just jealous of the life in your tank.

Most big box retailers probably just use the outside dimension and then round up making the tank sound bigger for sure.

Tanks looking good Derrick. Are you dosing any additives? Mg, Calcium or trace elements?

Not dosing anything, but want to get myself a profulix dosing unit and start dosing two part solution. i think i might get myself one very soon
