I am no expert by any means but i had the same problem about a month ago...for me it was low alk and mag to start with, then i discovered my skimmer pump had a snail stuck in it and wasnt pumping much water all. fixed all that and they stopped stning after a day or 2, i also cut back on feeding the fish a tiny bit..
