I had read a lot of people having the same issues. This is why I went with the deluxe. Better built, higher quality fittings. I haven't had any issues (knock on wood) and mine has never leaked or not sealed properly.

As far as the quick connects leaking you need to seat them by pushing them in firmly and then pulling back on them. Similar tubing and connectors are used on commercial air brake systems, so they should be reliable.
Trust me, I've done this many times. Once I get the reactors back in the sump, i can usually fiddle with the connectors to stop or minimize the leaking. My fiance has tried as well with no improvement. I'll move the sponge on the carbon next change and see if that helps. Thanks for the tip.

Nice when equipment works well.

C'mon people I didn't ask for reviews

Re-read my post

I'm specifically looking for info on whether or not you get air building up over time that causes the water level in the canister to drop

Please stop posting about your experiences with usage unless it is directly related to the level in your canister dropping

No, water level in canister remained consistent, never noticed air in the canister, so from that standpoint it shouldn't be a problem. Disregard the other issues noted and sorry if thread was hijacked

I wouldn't call it hijacked so much as off track
I was a bit snarky last night as I've been frustrated lately with posts getting sidetracked and having to read through a bunch of unrelated stuff
I guess it showed

Anyway, thank you - all of you - for your input

I've just finished setting up the second unit plumbed from a bucket of RO
I'll know before bedtime if I have a faulty unit or there's a design flaw to deal with, or whatever
I hope I don't have to order a different brand - I hate paying for freight

Bought the Deluxe BRS reactor a number of years ago. I've run it for GFO and Carbon through the years. I have had the issue of air and the level drop. Mine has an air bleed at the top in the form of a red button. When i get the problem you describe...I push the bleed and the level goes back up. You can't hold it long or water comes out the bleed nozzle.
