You know all those posts where I say sure, the tap water is fine today, but one day it might not be and you might want an RO unit? Today is one of those days

your TDS meter is way off if you've tested lower than 100 ppm on Calgary water raw sample

Very true. My rodi is still zero at the end but I always like to know how bad it is going into the unit. Might as well order new filters and a membrane now.

You are wasting your money! any generic type RO can handle this spike in crappy (high Aluminum) water.

In no way am I panicked or concerned. Just made an observation that the tds has jumped significantly. My water change water measures way higher which is also expected. I will look into calibrating my tds meter for better accuracy.

I just changed my RO unit's first stage sediment filter out today. It was still nearly white the day before the flood. Today it was a deep burnt umber. It aged in a week what it normally does in a month and a half.
