I use a cheep clamp on fixture that takes a standard bulb then use a par 30 bulb led. I get them from Costco. The fixture was like 12 bucks and the bulbs are 25 and it grows my cheato like crazy. Works good lights super bright and I think it's only 15 watts and is dimmable

your in luck because i just got a new bulb two days ago for my new tank.
heres a pic of my set up tank u can see its a clamp on fixture i got it at big als it a reptile fixture but NOT a heat fixture. think it was 8-12 bucks heres the bulb as u can see its led, 15 watts dimmable. its extremly bright because its a exterior flood light so its weather proof and its only $24 bucks and i buy them at costco. my cheato grows crazy and its a very cheep alternative. and u get no heat off this setup eather |

I;m currently in the pursuit of a good efficient and cheap sump light and I am thinking of purchasing this unit from Ikea...
It has a color and intensity controller, 4 strips and it costs $39.99.... anyone have any experience with these? and is 2700k warm white enough for cheato?

I use a 70 watt LED on my fuge and it grows like mad (it is also the proper spectrum for algae growth).
