![]() I have and they usually do their own thing... From time to time , a couple may decide to hang out together in the middle other than that I would say no.

![]() I have had as many as 13 in my tank and they just end up killing each other off over time, down too 3 now... they schooled in the beginning but now they just chase each other around most of the time instead of living in harmony

![]() Mine only schooled when very small. I started off with 6 I think, although 1 was a big old guy I had for a few years already.
I like the look of these fish especially when they school but even still by themselves, I just like their colour. So when they stopped schooling I didn't mind so much. But like many many many other stories I hear of these fish, mine eventually started getting nasty to each other. And one by one, they die off, or jump, and in the meantime you see them with all with torn fins or scrapes and bumps, or just spending their life hiding out in a hole. I don't think I'd ever bother getting any more, pretty colours or not. I can think of a couple other fish species that would do better if the schooling fish effect is what you were really keen to observe go on.

![]() I saw the same thing with my batch from the 97. All the ones from the 404 were pristine and gorgeous. Hit or miss maybe (or the big tang tricked them into thinking they needed friendship).

![]() I have 7 and they are always in the same area of the tank but never really swimming as one. They schooled much more in the beginning. Couple tangs and a couple angels as mates plus several others

![]() My Chromis school at times but not very often. They tend to gather together when my Achilles tang thinks he needs some excerise and chases them around for a while. He doesn't seem to get aggressive, just chases them in and around my sps corals.

![]() start with 3, schooling and now only one because he killed others and very aggressive at feeding time. He won't be on my new tank for sure.

![]() Anyone?
Personally, I think "schooling" in all but the most mammoth of captive environments is something that LFS' make up to sell more fish. I could be wrong, but I'd like to see some photos. |
