That sounds more like marine velvet... Very similar to Ich in some ways I would strongly recommend reading up on this disease as its quite brutal. I've never had it myself but if it's either Ich or marine velvet, I would recommend not addin anything to the tank for 6 weeks, (I can't remember) and during this this time I'd keep the tank as clean as possible and perhaps add a uv light to the mix; some people believe in uv lights some don't, but I don't think it hurts. Once that cycle is complete and fish less I'd add one small cheap fish to see how it does... It's mean but safer than throwing away lots of $ for fish. I spoke to the owner of a small lfs and he was having a really tough time getting good and healthy marine fish. Also pay close attention to the lfs as they are more than likely to have diseases in the tanks. Is the lfs reputable? Are the aquariums clean? Typically I pay close attention and watch the fish I like for a while. Sometimes I pay for fishy and have them hold it for a week if they are newly brought in. I'm sorry to hear about the CB and hope the disease doesn't spread. Last edited by Ginu; 03-21-2012 at 06:08 AM. |
