Head loss on Eheim Compact series?
Anyone know where I can find a flow chart for the Eheim Compact series pumps? I'm looking particularly at the 600 and the 1000, and wondering head loss as a return pump for my nano. I've been Googling for 20 minutes and can't find a darn chart!

I can't tell you what the official head loss is, but I can tell you that these pumps move a lot of water. I have the larger one pushing 4 large reactors in parallel and I still need to release pressure through a 5th parallel outlet.
Headl loss will help you select the right sized pump. I can only speak to the quality and ability to move a lot of water. I really like the pumps. - Brad |

idk about charts but i run the compact 1000 (rated for 240 gph) for a return on my 33 gal, it also feeds my 27 gal hex.

Thanks for the replies!
I want it as a return pump for a 20 gallon tank. The 600 (160 gph) says max head is 4.3 feet, and I will have 3'7". I'm just wondering if I'm going to get a lot of head loss being fairly close to the max. I would prefer to have 120-150 gph through the sump, and definitely don't want anything less than 100 gph. Maybe I will email Eheim. |

3', 7" including friction losses or just static head?
Those charts aren't necessary that accurate anyway and you'll find similar pumps will have the same pattern so just go by something similar. |

That's not including friction loss.
Although today I notice the nano is leaking, so maybe I will be having to get a bigger pump for my other (larger) nano anyway... Rrrrg! |

this is the chart for the Eden version of the pump. and seems like Eheim only offer 3 versions 2000L, 3000L and 5000L.

the box seems to be bang on for head loss... i use a 200 for a waterfall in a tererium and its useless at 2 feet... i use a oddysea 700 for my 20 gallon... works good at 4 feet. i figure around 250gph. cheep pump works great.. i have also seen these pumps used on skimmers and work awsome.. very fine bubbles and the pinwhell comes with the pump.
