snaz, I believe you are thinking of the Georgia aquarium. Georgia has had had three die on them I believe, but if I recall correctly, they have a better track record than okinawa. At the very least it's a bigger and prettier display. their whale sharks are also fishery bycatch, not targeted for collection; I do not know if okinawa followed the same protocol.

You can get a good scale of the tank by the two scuba divers inside doing maintanence, it's massive. I like the whale sharks not to mention Manta rays, they are awesome. There is certainly a big wow factor for me. Thanks for sharing.
