I suppose I should have asked this important queston...Is it a new fish in QT, or was in from your tank with good water quality?

If it's a new fish - Do a complete water change. Match your salinity, get the temp close to matching, and premix your copper treatment to match what's in there now...That is if you're using copper or maybe you're just doing observational qt, which means you likely shouldn't have a reason for bad water
unless you didn't get your filtration up and running prior???

I'll send you a pm, if you truly need Kanoplex, but that will only be a temporary solution...Your ammonia is likely off the charts, which means you should get some prime in the water until you change out your water (like asap).

To sum in up, your water quality is likely bad, that's why it's getting red spots/blotches...Again, if your water is off...Let me know.

I pulled it from my display. The QT tank has a bio filter. I always have a bag of seachem matrix in the sump ready to go for these situations.

I started a vibrant treatment so I wouldn't be surprised if the water quality in my display is off. None of my other fish seem to be affected. I've read tangs are sensitive to water quality.

I don't have copper either as qt with cp.

Thanks

Torontotraders was able to spare some. So grateful.

Thanks so much.

I got a dose in last night and she looks the same this morning, but at least she doesn't look like she's gotten worse. I think she's just barely hanging on to be honest.

I wish I had noticed sooner but she rarely swims out in the open when anyone is near the tank. She was out swimming a few nights ago, very disoriented, and that's when I noticed the blotches. Didn't even try to avoid the net.

Default Kanaplex

Is your tang eating. I suggest you soak his food in the medication, feed him and dose in your qt for the full dose but with only 1/5 the water for 5-10 minutes then fill the qt up the rest of the way so that it’s a regular dosage. Do this daily if you can in a 5 gallon bucket. Watch the ammonia levels. I use chemstars from my main tank and add to a filter in the bucket.

Good luck and do not treat beyond the recommended days of dosage.
