As a parts person in the automotive/transportation industry, I have had many times in the past where enthusiasts would meet in the parking lot of the parts store and shoot the breeze while trading gems amongst each other. They always came in the store after to spend money and inquire about future purchases. I don't think that people would be using the store as a selling spot but more as a safe haven and a general meeting place for enthusiasts.

Yup I get the safe place aspect. Never know who you're inviting into your home for a trade.

Awkward.
That's the feeling I get. Warranted or not, that's how I feel when I go to the store front as a buyer or seller. I sometimes go in to the store afterwards, and sometimes I just leave.
