Default Help Phosphates to high.

So I'm learning about phosphate spike. I have done 2 20g water changes this week on my 80g tank.my Hanna checker still is reading over 200 ppb. Ive dimed my radion light to 33% to aclumate a batch of new sps.

I'm looking to add a reactor or 2 for gfo.

Any tips or is their any difference between name brands?

I have bought 2 1.5 vertex thought they are missing the same parts and I can't replace them without going to vertex.
Do the cheaper versions work just as well? Like 2 little fish?

Need more information.
How long has your tank been set up?
How much do you feed?
what are your other parameters?
What are your nitrates?
Whats in your tank?
What's your current bioload, tanksize?
Picture doesn't show fish?

As frogger said more info will help

Whenever you encounter a problem with tank parameters or coral/fish issues take a picture if it warrants but also list what frogger mentioned

Also where it concerns fish/coral describe the issue be descriptive but don't write a book either

Most importantly don't panic if your question or query isn't answered right away don't panic add chemicals or stress to much if anything do a partial water change 10-25% and search the net for answers as well just don't panic it's the worst thing you can do in this hobby

I'm confused about your phosphate reading. You mentioned the Hanna checker read 200ppb and then in your last post you stated your phosphate was 1ppm. I'm assuming you are using the Hanna ULR phosphorus checker if you recieved a ppb reading. In that case you would multiply the 200 by 3.066 and then divide by 1000 to get your phosphate reading in ppm. In your case 200ppb phosphorus equates to .6132ppm phosphate.

I'm any case your nitrates and phosphates are high. As previously questioned, what's your current fish stocking (bioload) as well as what is your feeding regiment? Are you dosing anything to the tank right now?

You can use a phosphate remover, I myself prefer rowaphos, however this will not address your nitrates. Large water changes upwards of 50% would get those levels down, but firstly it's a good idea to figure out how your levels got to this point.

Also what test kit are you using for nitrate readings.
