Hi all,

Here are a couple pictures of the tank set up at work. It doesn't look as good against the wall as it will when I move it back to the original spot next week:





I am going to place it on a base of hockey pucks to raise it up enough for the hoses to clear the slot in the desk top. It shouldn't look quite as "Canadian ghetto" as it sounds . I will have a puck on each corner and one in the middle of the tank and all recessed a bit so that it looks like the tank is floating an inch off the desk on short black pillars.

looks like a little zen mountain setup

i think it might have looked quite neat if the sand was black....
i remeber reading about a guy who loved his white sand, the only way he kept it like that was to replace it all...yes all every month....was like a 500 gallon or something like that...rich european....

Thanks. I have thought about black sand before too - just not sure how it would look...
The aragonite is pretty cheap to replace every 4 or 5 months... I only use a cup or so and I'm still on my original bag.

Are you sure you want to levitate via hockeypucks? Wouldn't a nice oak base/surround suit the tank better? Could build it split, thus you could install/remove at will.

Ya, I think that a custom built wood stand would look a lot better. Problem is, I don't have the materials right now... uh, or the tools... or the skill...

You may have gotten them from me because I still have some, and can't get them to grow much either.
