Is vodka (carbon) worth doing on a small tank? Is it similar how carbon helps freshwater plants thrive?

Just use the same as you would with VSV, skip the sugar. 4:1 vodka:vinegar.

Interesting, with that mix you're getting the vast majority of organic carbon from the ethanol. I think there are many ways to skin this cat, but one thing is clear, it works!
