With 29" high, you'd be asking for trouble eventually. Really depends on the thickness of the glass though..

I once used a few large a wood clamps to support my tank from boing .Then removed brace & all traces of silicone from tank with very fine sandpaper. Replaced brace & silicone without draining tank
