Np I can't really tell you the gains as mine is a new build and I've nothing to compare to with the addition. I can tell you a long time reefer and friend highly recommended it as his nitrates went down from 50 to 5 and stayed there, that was good enough for me on his word alone. It's cheap especially if you already have a reactor. Hope that helps..
