Another option might be a Vertex Alpha skimmer pump. They use an Askoll block too but I'm not sure exactly which one.

Hey guys,

just wanted to post my experience. I recently replaced the pump in my BK Mini 180 Gen 1 with the laguna 1350. Everything bolted up and lined up perfectly. Only Problem it was pulling way more water then air. I managed to find a Volute off of a newer Bk/Vertex (big white one) and my skimate increased dramatically yet still not 100%, I believe i need the newer impeller to go along with it.

That being said, i believe if you have a Gen 2 or newer the 1350 will perform better.

I just finished adding one of these Askoll 1350's to both a Mini 200 and a 160. I haven't fired up the 160 yet, but the 200 is great. Exactly what I expected for performance. I swapped out a mini 180 that I've been running for a month, and the foam density and skimmate are comparable.
The 200 needed the screw holes enlarged a bit, you can drill these or probably use a steak knife.
The 160 just bolts right up.

Whatever it came with, likely gen 1 style. It's gone home now so can't check.

Impeller and volute on 200 are Gen 1
