I don't feel it's needed. This is pretty much the same construction that's been holding my 180 for 4 years. Most people way over build, and usually not needed. External plywood will prevent any lateral shifting. Glued and screwed.

Problem now is I made a slight design change while building, and didn't account for my doorway. Sometimes me no so smrt.
It fits in now, but not with top and bottom, which really needs to be finished outside. Not sure I want to clean up after the router in the living room -lol
