That idea works perfectly for an AC300. Just replace the AC300's impeller with an AC150's impeller. Thats what I'm using right now. However, I don't think it will work on an AC500... I have one sitting in the basement right now, and just comparing the two pumps, you can immediately see a size difference... maybe I'm wrong though?
