Too many water changes?

yes replenishment! I have run a successful fowlr tank for 5 years, got rid of what I could, then put it through 6 months of darkness.....
I am restarting it as a reef and being very selective what I put in. I understand replenishment is the secret to sucess. guess ill be putting less effort into daily waterchanges and more effort in once a week to a big one.
