Had the same trouble with my clown goby, the guy almost ate a whole colony of pocci.
I discovered a little trick to getting him out though. When hes chillin on a coral or something or hiding in a hard spot to get the net, take a siphon tube and start to siphon the water and try to get it near the goby. The little sucker will get sucked up without harm!
