Strawberry Anemones are temperate, you could go find them in the tide pools.

they dont look like strawberry nems. I'd guess your LFS didnt have a clue what it was so they slapped a price on it anyways. IMO, if you dont know what it is, you probably shouldnt buy/sell it. hope they turn out to not be to much of a pest!
