well my buddy just bought a seaclone rated for 100 gallons. mine's 105 with sump but i know i should get a skimmer rated for at least 1.5x. i've heard bad things about seaclones but would it be better with some modding? i might purchase it from him

They are complete junk and I don't think there is any saving them...mods or otherwise.
I think everyone here will concur.

If you take a saw and cut it up a bit you might find a use for the acrylic. I'm surprised people still get sucked in to buying them. Junk
