Hi there, welcome to the hobby, be warned you may get hooked!
You are on the right track, hammer corals are also quite hardy and a little more colourful than the usual leather and soft corals. It is worth doing some research on setting the tank up, there are some good threads on canreef to point you in th eright direction and I would certainly recommend having a chat with Kevin at Red Coral for some good advice. i have a xenia i wanna give away, mine split, I was letting it crawl on the rock and my snails knocked the plug off so now half is in the plug and the other is in the rockwork.
