Quinn, if you can find decent clubs suited to your size, swing, etc, then you'll be miles ahead. Try to find a smaller pro shop/school where they don't take themselves too seriously... And a half-dozen lessons to get you started will make it WAY more enjoyable, and avoid the water-hazard chunking and other pitfalls, for sure.

You've got a pile of good advice here, grasshopper. Have fun - there's nothing like connecting well and seeing that little ball disappear into the distance...

(Added bonus: Happy Gilmore is the finest golf movie ever made. Gotta watch that one a few times to get you going.)
