Being only 1 inch probably means it was tanked rasied which is awesome. Mine is certainly a rock dweller, it excavates a little hidey hole under some LR to sleep in. If it gets spooked it will dash to any number of known holes in the rock and then it's head pokes out somewhere to see what is going on.

Mine does not like crabs, if it sees a hermit outside it's main escape it gets all flashy and does the "move along" dance. Hermit is just oblivious though.

Looking really good Trevor!! It looks like the tank is settling in well. What bulbs are you using in the Tek? When I got my first T5 fixture it took me forever to settle on bulbs...I was always changing them until I found something I like.

Don't get too attached to the Powder Brown though, he will outgrow your 70 gallon tank in a couple years. Not the best choice for a 36" tank.

They were talking about the Orchid Dottyback possibly being tank raised, not the Tang.

Allready talked that over with Purple (my wife). And plan on upgrading to a 90-125 withing the next 2 years. The PB seems very happy, no hiding, pecking at the rocks, and loves anything with selcon on it (except nori so far)

Lucky you!! You will be looking at a 6' tank to keep the PB permanently. Gorgeous fish though. I wish they didn't grow so big...or were such Ich magnets!!

7-8" (8.3" the record apparently) isnt that big, its one of the smaller tangs. However I know its gonna need a larger swimming area as it grows. All tangs are prone to ich as far as I know. I'm hoping with a varied diet with lots of vitamins and greens, plus the cleaner shrimp I can keep that down to a min. If I have to I'll get a uv sterilizer. But as I said, so far so good, not even a speck.

Anyhow, it's eating nori now, and trimming down all the various types of algea in my tank. Seems to like everything I put in the tank flake, pellets, nori, and various food foe carnivores that I feed the other fishies and corals.
