Yup, especially in your location where it doesn't freeze very hard or long, not like here where it's iceberg city

You must have a lfs that specializes in koi or goldfish, or even someplace that will sell pond building supplies that can help you out with the specifics of building a suitable outdoor pond that will overwinter your GF. At colder temps, the fish go into a dormant state, so they aren't fed at that time.

Most outdoor ponds have serious filtration systems to handle the large bioload. There's really a lot to an outdoor pond. It's something I'd never do because of the complexity of it.
