Yes, but imo I would use a mighty python, and you can't dump salt water onto a patio.......unless you want dead everything around it and salt stains to boot....

The filling part sounds okay.....never had a flood of major consequence during a water change (once we figured out it either needs two people, or a timer for the 'alzeimeric'.....or the easily distracted.. )
