Sounds normal for a Bird Wrasse. Not like natural or good normal, just normal for this species in captivity.

J+L has a product called "medic". I can't remember all it was supposed to cure but it may be worth some investigation...It is reef safe as well.

I found some info on this. Apparently it is quite natural on males.
