I agree that derogatory comments have no place in this society and everyone should conduct themselves with the utmost respect and honour, however at what point do these rules and policies become an infringement on the basic civil rights ( the law in this country ) that our society as a whole was created on (speaking in general terms here).

I preffer to listen to everyones opinion on discussions and form a conclusion based on my own thoughts. Sometimes there is no harm in listening to someones rants and raves as they may have a valid point as long as it is respectfull ( it is only slander if its not true ). The best part of our society is that we have the right to agree or disagree and this is what make a discussion interesting.

I do agree that the staff at canreef have a responsability to be held accountable for there actions to a certain point when it comes to deleting a post. However in my opinion some people should cut them a little slack, they do one heck of a job in maintaining a decent, respectable forum. I can only imagine how much work is involved in keeping this forum running.

My hats off to the staff at Canreef.

Thank you for all your hard work.

P.S. Thank to all who listened to my rant and rave.

Regards
Sean

Hello,

It definitly is censorship, but definition aside I would just like to say I disagree with the practice of deleting posts without a explanation being given. Everyone gets off topic etc on occasion and my slightly sarcastic remark about a person's inclusion of tax into the savings one could make on their sale was far from worthy of deletion. When moderators do not require the extra step of an explanation, I believe they no longer think things through as they can just click "delete".

As for this board changing, I guess I chose my words wrong. The board is great, the members are great, I just find the rules a little too strict now. (Maybe the rules has always been in place, but until now I had never seen it used and I have seen quite a few posts worthy of deletion in years past far outweighing my little comment) I miss Bob's gruff attitude and grammar checks.
Generally speaking, it'd be nice to have a full explanation for each action we do. 90+% of the time when one of the Staff members sight a potential problem, we'd put it on our watch list and discuss amongst ourselves whether we do the actual explanation part.

However, also speaking on general terms here, it is impossible to do this for every single thread. It is simply non-practical. So sometimes when there are threads that we know is of a similar nature to a previous case, we just go ahead to delete it. Actually we move it to a private area.

If you see a thread/post gone and you do definitely feel that it doesn't violate any rules or even touch the grey area realm, then please PM us and we'll revisit the case.

Titus
