Well I get some back but only because of contributing to RRSPs. I read an article that said Canadians pay more for taxes than we do for necessities - almost 50% of what we make goes straight for taxes.

Since I read that article a couple of weeks ago, we got nailed with the new recycling fee of $8 per month, they raised property taxes 4%, and even with the major surpluses in Alberta if you smoke you get hit yet again. All this plus transit going on strike next week.

It is sickening what we are forced to pay out in our so-called rich country.

Oh, yeah, sorry for the rant. I hate taxes. What I really meant to let you know is that the feds are now charging interest if you owe them, so try not to get them in late!
