Sump return pump

I guess it entirely depends on how much output you would like for your return.

Is it a sump return? If so what is the maximum that your overflow(s) can handle. You don't want to be pumping back more than you can get out!

With that in mind I would recommend any of the MAG pumps. I currenly use a MAG 9.5 in my closed loop system, and it easily handles all the plumbing tasks I throw at it. They are reliable, fairly quiet and give you the best bang-for-the-buck.

First you need to know what your maximum GPH will be, then get a pump that is as close to it as possible. Then the best advice I can give is to remember you can always throttle back a large pump with a gate or ball valve, but you can't do anything about too small a pump, so buy a little higher flow than you think you'll need. Trust me, you'll be glad you did!
