Wow, what a great thread. Anyone thinking of getting an RO/DI should read this.
When I bought my Aqua FX a while back I was getting a 0 output as well. Later that year, it climbed to about 20 as well.
JL was shipping me new DO resins that I thought were from Aqua FX but instead were a generic brand. I could tell easily because not only did the resin wear out faster, but it had a very poor and not uniform color change where the Aqau FX goes Black/Brown/White very evenly from the bottom up as it runs out.
Now that I have gone back to the true Aqua FX DI, my water is back to 0.
The moral of the story is research and test. If you don't have a TDS meter for your unit, You need one. Don't assume your RO/DI water is good just because you have the unit.
