You could also think about going with Bifrenatus cichlids-- they're cute and small... or maybe something like Lelupi -- or juliedochromis, My advice is if ur going to try and do small cichlids like malawi mbuna or tangynika cichlids, pile ur rock up higher, especially for julies... that would be a cute tank-- add some Java Fern and toss a bunch of different julies in-- that would definitely be neat!

But i also like the idea of rams-- they are sooo pretty-- but then you'll need to soften up the water a bit..etc.
