My experience is that Calgary water is not horrible to use, (especially in a FOWLR). I have used Calgary water exclusively since I began dabbling in reefs more than three years ago. I have no algae problems whatsoever.

It is a touchy subject, as other people swear by RO/DI water. I can only tell you what my EXPERIENCE has been.
