The holes in the overflow accept 1.5 " bulkheads. I can't speak to whether or not it is expensive. This is the largest tank I've ever had. Polished and beveled edges, 15 mm glass. Is it Elos perfect? No. Am I happy with my purchase? Yes. Probably another month before I get it wet though
