You are better off getting another 100 or 200w heater to add to your tank than one big 300w, in case your heater malfunctions.
2 heaters with 1 burnt out = 1 heater left to keep tank warm. 2 undersized heaters with 1 stuck ON = tank heating up slightly. 1 lg heater burns out = cold tank. 1 lg heater stuck ON = boiled coral and fish stew Just saying. Ask the members here who've had heater malfunctions in the past.
