How long have you had your set-up? In my case 4 mos. The tank is pretty con-tank-oruss in the beginning to say the least. I found that you have to have quite a high water level, past the mid-way point on the black plastic rim @ the top, with your weir keeping the water level in between the very top 2 bars on the sump viewing window. From there turn skimmer all they way down, and slowly re-adjust upwards. If it's new it'll probably take a couple of weeks to break in, just keep the cup higher til it does. I now run my water at that level with the skimmer cup as low as it will go. It seem's to make stable foam and pulls quite a bit of s... out.
