Bob, you've had some pictures turn out fine - maybe not macro close-ups, but clear enough. Find out what settings produce the best results for you, and go with that. Find a sturdy little table if you don't have a tripod, set it at the correct distance and height, and go to town. Once you've found the "sweet spot" for that HP, you can take as many shots as you care to, with the hopes that at least some will be keepers.
Even Steve throws out the vast majority or his shots, apparently, and he has a high-falutin' Fuji unit. You've got to make the best of what you've got, like me.
