this is where people get the wrong perspective about water changes, they dont get rid of nutrients the ratio is too low think about what your saying and please read up on it before you answer me back and I have to write back another novel lol.. skimming is the break down of bubbles"nutrient concentration" by the contact of air and water break down , water changes are to rebuffer your system ph,alkalinity etc... I bet you're one of those guys who with high nitrates and you should have them with clown fish breeding would do major water changes!! big no no it will still be present... Not in anyway trying to argue with you just a friendly conversation but it's too bad and you would agree alot of people are non educated in this hoby and do more harm than anything...
Has for affordability if you can't then you shouldn't be in it, overtime people always upgrade why not wait and save and get reliability...
If you undestood mechanics of skimming you wouldnt be cheering for coralife skimmers they are absolute crap, the motor is crap, the tests of water to air contact ratio is below normal.
Derek was the biggest clown fish breeder here in toronto and lucky for you he is no longer doing it lol.., you can put a seaclone skimmer to his tanks and would skim a cup of crap within minutes if you understand what I am trying to get at, the amount of chemichals thrown in those tanks makes it very rich nutrient in other words any crap skimmer will skimm.
