this is not only true but strongly recommended.

some tangs will eat lettuce and other veggies but you are far better off and there is much more nutritional value in feeding dried seaweed ( AKA nori ). most recommend feeding dried seaweed at least 3 times a week to strengthen their immune system and keep them fat and happy. my purple tang wont even wait for me to finish putting the nori in the tank before he attacks, absolutely loves it.
