I dunno, I mixed 5 tsp with 5g RO and used this in my auto top-off when I used kalk. Never measured the alk, so can't tell you what it should be. My tank never went too high though. I'd probably look up some of Craig Bingman's articles on kalk if you want the chemistry behind it.
