Old Clowns

Your fish are still young. They can easily live for another 20 years plus. Most clownfish don't live that long because of poor husbandry. The large one is the female.

The best way to add new fish to your tank is either to isolate the clowns from the new addition for a few weeks or better yet move the clowns out of the tank for a couple weeks. When you put the clowns back in the other fish will have their own territory and the clowns will be out of sort for a while. Don't try to add another clown.

This works for percula and ocellaris but not so well with maroon, sebae, cinnamon, clarke or tomatoe.

Clownfish are territorial especially near their nest. They are closely related to damsels and have a similar aggression.

I had a tomato clown once that was so aggressive he had to live out his 15 or so years in the sump all alone.
