I buy IO in bulk, so I just test one of the buckets in the batch for cal, alk, mg, and pH after 12 hours mixing just to check for something funky. I mix up 100 gallons at a time, so I don't bother to mix the salt in the bucket.
I use H2Ocean for my reef tanks and I test each new bucket. I don't mix the salt because H2Ocean packs the salt in a tight-fitting bag so it doesn't move around and settle ime. I only make 20 gallons at a time. I test cal, alk, mg, K, and pH after 12 hours. |
